Manager of Technical Support

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Manager of Technical Support in the Department of Information Systems.   The purpose of this position is to manage and direct the technical support function for the County; manage the County’s It Helpline, and provide back-up technical support to all County buildings and entities. Other duties include attending Assigning and maintaining service requests and ensures completion in a timely manner, troubleshooting hardware/software and relays information to end users, applying current technologies to resolve problems while providing assistance to County personnel, training end users in system operation, software programs and hardware, meets and communicates with IS Staff and Department Head to ensure new and current systems are functioning properly, and researching and studies new technologies and attends conferences and seminars for money saving implementations. Requirements for this position are an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science/Network Engineering or related field along with 2+ years of relevant experience working as a support technician or IT manager in a computer related field. County residency must be established within 180 days and maintained throughout employment.
