Deputy Director- Planning Division

DEPUTY DIRECTOR – PLANNING DIVISION Westmoreland County Department of Planning and Development is seeking applicants for the Deputy Director position within its Planning Division. The purpose of the position is to assist the Director in the overall administration and operation of the Planning & Development Department; direct Planning Division staff and coordinate workloads; and implement the County Comprehensive Plan and Department’s strategic plan. The Deputy Director reports directly to the Director and oversees the Planner I-Assistant Deputy Director positions. The position is responsible for supervising and directing daily assignments; conducting research, data, and geospatial analyses; overseeing subdivision, land development, and zoning reviews; overseeing implementation of the County Comprehensive Plan; providing customer service; overseeing the TRAMS program; and assisting with Community Development programs.  Successful candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Urban & Regional Planning, Geography, Architecture/Landscape Architecture, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field and 8-10 years’ of relevant work and supervisory experience. A Master’s degree and/or AICP certification is preferred.
