Westmoreland doles out 1st batch of coronavirus relief funds to small businesses

County commissioners last week awarded 260 small businesses grants totaling $4.3 million to cover loses associated with the coronavirus pandemic. Grants will be handed out again at the courthouse on Thursday, Monday and by appointment.

Lorraine Makosky’s tanning salon in Hempfield missed out on what would have been her busy season when Pennsylvania’s nonessential businesses were shut down this spring during the first surge of the coronavirus pandemic.
