Westmoreland broadband survey identifies service gaps

Theresa Burd, 69, of Derry, works on the computer at the Adams Memorial Library in Latrobe, on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020. The library was the first in Westmoreland County to receive broadband internet, and now with their fiber optics, are getting upload and download speeds above 400Mbps.

Westmoreland County officials said an appeal will be filed early next year challenging data published by the Federal Communications Commission that claims most local homes and businesses have adequate high-speed internet service.
