Firefighters from three volunteer fire departments who helped to rescue Kayli Kiss from inside her burning home on Timber Ridge Court in Penn Township on Aug. 4
were honored before the Penn-Trafford football game Friday. The firefighters (from left) are: Westmoreland City Capt. Brad Doshen, Harrison City 1st Lt. Brandon Quinn, Harrison City Capt. Zachary LaValle; Irwin 2nd Lt. Lou Scarlett and Irwin firefighter Scott Urias.

Teamwork helped avert a tragedy last month at a Penn Township house fire. Firefighters and paramedics worked together to get a young girl out of the burning building to safety, the Harrison City fire chief said Friday.
