Tax Clerk – Tax Claim Bureau

SHIFT: 8:30 – 4:00

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to collect tax monies, assist the public, balance cash drawers and in the absence of Sr. Accounts Clerk balance daily deposits.
2. Ability to provide assistance at the counter including answering questions, locating files, giving information, completing applications, forms and documents, and issuing receipts.
3. Ability to retrieve information from files, computer data bases and indexes to provide assistant to co-workers, public and other departmental personnel.
4. Ability to update files, indexes, computer data bases, dockets, add new records/information or delete outdated records in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
5. Ability to prepare tax bills for Sheriff sale and attend court hearings, when necessary.
6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate decimals and percents.
7. High school graduate with one to two years tax experience or similar experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
8. Ability to type 40 wpm and use Microsoft Word and Excel programs.
