Receptionist – Part Time, PrisonWestmoreland County Prison is seeking applicants for the position of Part Time receptionist. The purpose of this position if to coordinate and communicate with visitors of Westmoreland County Prison. The purpose of the position is to coordinate and communicate with visitors of Westmoreland County Prison. Addition job duties include but are not limited to: Answer telephones, take message, use of public address system, provide assistance and direct call and visitors to appropriate personnel.Receive and process money and other items for inmate, verify all incoming monies and valuables, record and post money orders, and reconcile the cash drawer.Sort, censor, and prepare all incoming inmate and prison mail and documents.Variable Shifts8:30 am – 4:00 pm, 8:30 am – 12:30 pm and 12:30 pm – 8:00 pmIncludes weekends, evenings and holidays.  Minimum 12 hours a weekQualificationsHigh school graduate or G.E.D. or any equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience.  Ability to answer telephones, take messages, use of public address system, provide assistance and direct calls and visitors to appropriate prison personnel.  Ability to coordinate approved visitors for inmates and process visitors for prison personnel.Ability to sort, censor, and prepare all incoming inmate and prison mail and other documents for distribution. Ability to accept employee call offs, notify the appropriate prison department and notify appropriate personnel of deliveries. Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including personal computer, calculator, typewrite, paging equipment, metal detector, etc. Ability to communicate effectively, to follow instructions, perform mathematically calculations, and perform general clerical duties, etc. Must be able to successfully complete PA Department of Corrections Non-Security 2 Week Training at Camp Hill. Applications, resume, and over letters should be sent to: Human Resource 2 N.
