Purchasing Clerk

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Purchasing Clerk  in the Purchasing Department.  The purpose of this position is to process purchase order requests for the acquisition of materials, supplies, and equipment, receive and inspect delivered items and maintain and balance relevant purchasing records.  Job duties include but are not limited to:Contacting vendors for prices and ordering of various warehouse supplies either verbally or in writing.Prepares formal bid forms according to specifications supplied by various departments.Corresponds with vendors concerning shipments, invoice problems, back orders, and payments.Ability to verify budget and availability of funds, and order supplies needed to maintain inventory levels.Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus one to three years purchasing  experience preferred.  Applications should be sent to:Human Resources Department2 North Main Street, Suite 108Greensburg, PA   15601Or may be emailed to: employment@co.westmoreland.pa.us                                                                                                                                                                            EOE
