Public Information Officer (Community Outreach)

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Public Information Officer (Community Outreach) in the District Attorney’s Office. The purpose of this position is to gather facts, compose press releases, distribute the same to the media, maintain and update CRIMEWATCH, and to maintain a social media presence. To organize events, news conferences, and press releases. To serve as a liaison to the media and to the community. Job duties are not limited to the above description. A four-year college degree with a major college or university in marketing, public relations, communications, business administration, or a closely related field; and at least four years of progressively responsible marketing, sales, public affairs, public information or closely related experience.
