The Westmoreland County Juvenile Probation Office has a Probation Officer Aide position vacant and is accepting applications. If interested, send resume and cover letter via email to Norm Mueller, Director/Chief Juvenile Probation Officer.Salary$18.64/hour, 1950 hours/year,  $36,348 annually.Job DutiesResponsible for the ordering and stocking of drug tests, drug testing equipment, etc.Prepare Home Pass Approvals for Probation Officers.Prepare and email Referral Packets for Probation OfficersAssist in covering the duties of other Probation Officer Aides when they are unavailable.Switchboard back-up on emergency rotation.Filing documents in the central filing system.Scan mail and send signed case plans to parents of juveniles.Scan all other necessary documents provided by Probation Officers into the Juvenile folder and JCMS.Assist Probation officers in looking up court costs on the CPCMS system.Assist the Deputy Director in the coordination of the Internship program with collecting necessary documentation for interns, coordinating work scheduled for interns with Probation Officers, and serving as liaison with the intern, probation officers, and university.Prepare quarterly staff meeting minutes and unit meeting minutes.Transport files and documents to the Clerk of Courts for certification.Meet with juveniles whenever Probation Officer is unavailable due to conflict in schedule that includes juvenile check-ins.Assist Probation Officers with drug testing individuals on probation.This list is not exhaustive and other duties may apply.Job DescriptionPOSITION BENEFITSPOSITION                JUVENILE PROBATION DEPARTMENT PROBATION OFFICER AIDESTARTING SALARY            $19.11/hr. – 1,950 hours/yearMEDICAL                UPMC or HighmarkBENEFITS                Vision Care Plan                    Prescription CoverageRETIREMENT                Mandatory 9%LIFE INSURANCE                  One and one-half times their annual salaryPROBATIONARY PERIOD    The 1st 45 working days of employment, sick or personal time can be used during probationary period.HOURS OF WORK            7.5 hours/day (8:30am – 4:30pm) ½ hr. unpaid lunch Occasional overtimeSICK LEAVE    0-5 years of service – 8 days accrued per year 6-10 years of service – 10 accrued days per yearEmployee will receive one additional sick day for each additional year, maximum of 15 days.VACATION:        YRS.
