Penn Township approves preliminary land development plan for independent living facility

The location of the former back nine holes of the Westmoreland Country Club golf course is overgrown and vacant on Nov. 9 along Harrison City-Export Road in Penn Township. The site is being proposed as the location for an independent living facility. Project engineer Mike Sanford said developers plan to use the former golf course pond to help with stormwater management.

Penn Township commissioners voted last week to approve the preliminary land development plan for an independent living facility proposed for Harrison City-Export Road.
