Notice of Vacancy Part-Time Divorce Hearing OfficerWestmoreland County Courthouse is seeking qualified candidates for a contract Divorce Hearing Officer position. This role offers a daily rate of $350 and does not include benefits. Candidates must agree not to practice family law before a conference officer, hearing officer, permanent or standing hearing officer, or judge of Westmoreland County.Job Duties & Responsibilities:Negotiates and prepares consent orders of court with attorneys and parties.Conducts hearings with attorneys, clients, and witnesses when a consent agreement is not possible, requiring knowledge of relevant law, procedural rules, and evidentiary standards.Drafts and prepares Findings of Fact, Conclusions, and Recommendations for Family Court Judges, assessing witness credibility and applying legal principles.Conducts settlement negotiations at All Counts Conferences.Prepares agreements and final divorce documents necessary to conclude divorce proceedings.Drafts findings and orders of court when settlement is not reached.Conducts spousal and child support hearings de novo when conflicts arise for the DRO Hearing Officer.Requirements:Candidates must have earned their Juris Doctorate and be admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania. They must have a strong working knowledge of family law, procedural and evidentiary rules, and court processes.
