Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Park Coordinator. The overall objective of this job is to plan, organize, and direct all aspects of events, programs, and recreational activities of the Parks and serve as a central office contact that provides administrative support to Park Managers and the parks maintenance staff.
Essential functions of the job are but not limited to the following:
Negotiate and prepare contracts and agreements with entertainers, vendors, amusement ride companies, and other vendors
Answer phone calls and questions from the general public regarding events, festivals, amusement, vendors, etc.
Develop and monitor program budgets and accounts for fees collected from various program vendors and participants
Operate within the department budget, ensuring expenditures are appropriate
Coordinate maintenance personnel, park police, clerical staff, volunteers, and community groups during events
Develops, pursues and manages fundraising opportunities
Prepares and oversees, in coordination with Park Managers, contracts, bid specifications, requests for quotes and agreements that pertain to park maintenance
Applicants must meet the MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Parks and Recreation or related field preferred. Three to five years of progressive supervisory experience in program and event management in a community parks and recreation setting. Valid PA driver’s license required.
County residency must be established within 180 days and maintained throughout employment.
