More than 300 turn out to honor memory of late state Rep. Mike Reese

An estimated 300 runners and walkers took part in the 5K memorial fund run-walk for late state Rep. Mike Reese Sunday at Mammoth Park in Mt. Pleasant Township. The event also includes a pig roast and raises money for local athletes with limited financial resources.

As word spread that participation in the Mike Reese Memorial 5K Run/Walk Sunday would likely surpass the inaugural event a year ago in Westmoreland County’s Mammoth Park, it did not surprise his childhood friend Chad Zaucha.
