Lots drawn to declare winners in 39 tied election races in Westmoreland County

Nancy Peters (right) of Jeannette was the lone candidate who appeared in person at the Westmoreland County Courthouse on Friday to break ties from this month’s election. Peters was one of 30 people who received one write-in vote in the race for Jeannette controller. She drew the No. 21 marble and did not win the seat.

Lady Luck eluded Nancy Peters on Friday afternoon.
