Lieutenant – Westmoreland County Prison

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Lieutenant at the Westmoreland County Prison.  The purpose of this position is to perform duties related to the care, custody, control and discipline of inmates and to function as a lead worker; to provide supervision, direction, and assistance to Corrections Officers in the performance of their daily work duties.Job duties include but are not limited to:Ensuring continual surveillance of prison buildings, housing areas, grounds and activities.Clearing final inmate counts once submitted by Corrections Officer.Inspecting assigned areas of prison building and grounds to ensure maximum security and cleanliness.  Providing training to Corrections Officer including but not limited to, policies, procedures, recertification, and defense tactics.  Reviewing and authorizing all inmate releases. Reviewing payroll time sheets for accuracy and submitting in a timely fashion.Approving or disapproving all “use of force” actions.Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent in General Studies.
