Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the Lieutenant Position at the Westmoreland County Prison. The purpose of this position is to perform duties related to the care, custody, control and discipline of inmates and to function as a lead worker; to provide supervision, direction and assistance to Corrections Officers in the performance of daily work duties.
This position supervises and directs Sergeants and Correctional Officers in performance of daily work duties, and provides training to Correctional Officers. Qualified candidate must have 5 years of experience as a correction officer with a County or State facility and a high school diploma or equivalent. Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to respond to emergent situations through quick assessment and provide leadership, and understanding and implementation all policy and procedures of the prison are necessary.
