Westmoreland County Veterans Affairs is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the Lead Veteran Representative position. Essential functions of the job are but not limited to the following:
Assist Veterans and Dependents for Compensation, Pension, Widows Pension, and all other benefits obtainable through the VA.
Attends trainings and seminars as required.
Processes mail, answers phones, provides information and assistance as required.
Conducts confidential interviews with clients. Prepares a variety of documents, reports, correspondence, memos, and other related materials.
Coordinate the Van pickup for the Veterans of Central Westmoreland County.
Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including Military discharges, patient records, insurance forms, letters and other correspondence, death certificates, burial information, military claims, policy and procedure manuals.
Ability to operate a variety of office equipment including computers, typewriters, photocopier, telephone and calculator.
County residency must be established within 180 days and maintained throughout employment
