Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of IS Specialist for our Information Systems department. Job duties include but are not limited to analysis, design, development and implementation of information system modules. Ability to perform modifications using the case tool CA 2E, Cobol, RPG, Java, HTML, C++, Microsoft Access or Visual Basic. Ability to assist in problem-solving and debugging systems. Ability to provide test data and testing for in-house systems, modules, modifications and/or vendor packages. Assist with the training/support of new application Development staff. Applicants must have an Associate degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with a minimum of six credits in high level computer programming languages as well as relational database and /or systems analysis and design courses, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
