Homeless Prevention Manager – DHS

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Homeless Prevention Manager in the Department of Community Relations and Prevention.  This position is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of the DCRP’s homeless prevention and assistance programs and services.  The Manager will work collaboratively with other DCRP staff, as well as with other DHS departments, to ensure that services are provided in compliance with state and federal regulations.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement strategies to prevent homelessness, including prevention programs, outreach to at-risk individuals and families, and partnerships with landlords and property managers.Develop and implement a coordinated entry system to streamline access to housing and services for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.Oversee the development and implementation of a homeless advisory board to provide guidance and feedback on homeless prevention and assistance efforts.Coordinate with DHS staff and community partners to identify and address gaps in services and resources for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.Develop and maintain relationships with housing providers, social service agencies, and other community organizations to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to homelessness.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, or related field required.  Master’s degree is preferred.Five years experience in homeless prevention or related field, with at least two years in a supervisory role.Knowledge of homeless prevention and assistance strategies, including coordinated entry systems, prevention programs, and housing placement and retention services.Experience developing and managing partnerships with housing providers, social service agencies, and other community organizations.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise staff and collaborate effectively with partners.Demonstrated ability to analyze date and use outcomes to inform program design and improvement.Applications, resumes, cover letters, and salary requirements should be sent to:Human Resources Department 2 N.
