Historical marker honors early Unity farmer, Congressman, Whiskey Rebellion mediator

A Pennsylvania historical marker is seen along Latrobe’s Main Street, near Loyalhanna Creek. It honors William Findley (c. 1741-1821), who owned a farm and mill in the vicinity. An early state legislator and Congressman, he sympathized with the Whiskey Rebellion in Southwestern Pennsylvania but worked to defuse its associated violence.
