High winds leave thousands without power in Westmoreland County; more expected in Pittsburgh region

Residents walk along the Allegheny River in Point State Park in the rain Tuesday. According to forecasters, Pittsburgh will have a rainy, snowy, and windy week ahead followed by a decrease in the temperature.

High winds Tuesday afternoon left more than 10,000 FirstEnergy customers without power in Westmoreland County. More high winds can be expected Wednesday in the Pittsburgh area, according to the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh.
