High winds knock out trees, power, close roads; damage worst in Westmoreland, Fayette

A tree was uprooted and leaning onto the side of a home on Sawmill Road on Saturday<ins>,</ins><ins> March 4, 2023</ins> in Mount Pleasant Township.

Thousands of homes remained without power Saturday morning in Westmoreland and Fayette counties as a result of high winds that began moving through the region on Friday and remained a threat in some areas through early Saturday afternoon.
