Greensburg Salem grads honored for work at Export plant; student firefighter praised for rescue effort

Greensburg Salem High School 2020 graduate Alyssa Yeckel, right, voices her appreciation for a pre-apprenticeship partnership between the school district and the German American Chamber of Commerce that helped her land a job with Leybold, an Export vacuum pump manufacturer. Yeckel and classmate and co-worker Wayne Clark, left, were recognized at the school board meeting on Wednesday<ins>,</ins><ins> March 8, 2023,</ins> for their success in the apprenticeship program. The chamber named Clark Apprentice of the Year, and Yeckel was a nominee for the title.

Two recent Greensburg Salem High School graduates have been recognized for their work at a local manufacturing company, prompting additional plaudits from the school board.
