Job Duties
This position has the responsibility and oversight for the overall operations and administration of policies of the Westmoreland County Juvenile Probation Department. The position is under the supervision of the Administrative Judge and the District Court Administrator. Responsibilities for the Juvenile Probation Department include but are not limited to: develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures, long term goals, mission,and planning; develops, administers, and monitors budgets, operations, personnel, juvenile placements, and grants; plans, organizes and directs activities and programs; administers all personnel matters, approves and recommends disciplinary actions; liaison with other county and court departments for juvenile matters.
Job Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Sciences, Sociology, Criminal Justice or related field. A Master’s Degree is preferred. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a criminal justice related field is required. A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
