Director of Juvenile Detention and Shelter

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Juvenile Detention and Shelter. Job duties include directing and supervising the staff and overall operations of the County’s Juvenile Detention and Shelter programs and the related facilities of same in accordance with Federal, State and County law/policy/guidelines for both departments/programs. 
 
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, education, psychology, sociology, counseling or related field and have three (3) to five (5) years working experience in the social service field, or similar field: preferably in juvenile detention/placement facilities administration including supervisory experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
County residency must be established within 180 days and maintained throughout employment.  Resumes, cover letters, and salary requirements should be sent to:
