Director of Human Services

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Human Services. The purpose of this position is to coordinate the administration of County Human Service functions. This position is responsible for directing the Human Service departments through effective planning, staff management, and resource allocation; manages priorities, identifies critical issues, resolves conflicts, and assures the effective coordination of programs and strategies to protect and improve the health, wellness, and safety of all Human Services employees, County residents, and program participants.The essential functions of this position are strategy and leadership, partnership development, and operational and budget management. This position will work with all Human Service departments to gather input and insight, lead development and implementation of the strategic plan, and develop programs, changes, and initiatives for Westmoreland County. A Master’s degree in a Human Service field is required. Applicants should have five (5) years working experience in leadership and management in a clinical facility and extensive administrative background or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.County residency must be established within 180 days and maintained throughout employment.
