Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Director of Human Resources. The purpose of this position is to provide general administration of Human Resources Department activities and functions. Job duties include but are limited to coordination of labor relations activities including negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, coordinates personnel disciplinary actions, development and monitoring budgets, plans, organizes, and oversees all Human Resources activities of the County, interacts with Department Heads to identify and develop Human resources activities and provide recommendations for goals, objectives, and systems. Also to conduct recruitment efforts for employees; reviews applications, screens, interviews candidates, administers drug screens, valid job related testing and facilitates recommendation to for hire, organization and preparation of Salary Board, review of job applications, conducts weekly meetings with Commissioners to provide information regarding employment, and responds to questions from departments, employees, and others regarding human resource issues.
Master’s degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Labor Relations, or a related field, with six (6) to nine (9) years human resource and labor relations experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
