Deputy Chief Assessor

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Deputy Chief Assessor in the Tax Assessment Department.  The purpose of this position is to support the Chief Assessor and to supervise the department staff of the Assessment Office. The job duties include but are not limited to:Analyzing, evaluating and assessing property, changes or appeals on property and assuring records are properly recorded.Assisting in the development of the annual budget in coordination with the Chief Assessor and overseeing expenditures.Monitoring performance and updating tables in the CAMA system; assisting with resolving issues with software.Serving as Hearing Officer for Board of Assessment Appeals.Assisting tax collectors and the County Treasurer’s Office with year-end balancing of taxes and collection of taxes.Running quarterly reports from CAMA software system; formulating and dispensing said reports; preparing reports for various agencies and officials.Answering questions and resolving problems regarding real estate and valuations to property owners and the general public.Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent.  Associate’s Degree in business, statistics or related field preferred.  Must hold a Certified PA Evaluators License and be recertified every 2 years.
