Crews rescue equipment operator who went over steep hillside off Route 30 in North Huntingdon

North Huntingdon first responders work to rescue a man who drove a skid loader over a steep hillside Tuesday just before 3 p.m. Rescuers used a Stokes basket to carry the injured man back up the snow covered hill about 4:15 p.m. He was taken by ambulance to an undisclosed hospital.

The operator of a skid loader suffered non life-threatening injuries Tuesday afternoon when the equipment went over a 150-foot hillside behind the Norwin Commerce Center along Route 30 in North Huntingdon, Hartford Heights Deputy Fire Chief Mark Gibas said.
