Your commitment could make a world of difference in the lives of those who need it most.DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe role of this position is to provide comprehensive social services to children and families who require assessment and support from the Children, Youth, and Families department. As a full-time advanced professional caseworker, my responsibilities include acting as a lead worker for a team of social service staff. Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting assessments and investigations to determine the need for and provision of protective services, as well as providing supportive and preventive services to children and families. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement agencies, schools, and community organizations, to provide appropriate interventions and resources. The County Casework Manager provides supervision and guidance for this position.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Full-time employmentWork hours are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. Check your email, including spam/junk folders, for these notices.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Two years of experience as a County Caseworker 2; or A bachelor’s degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences and three years of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.  Other Requirements: PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.  Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Westmoreland County.
