Community Relations and Prevention Program Specialist – DHSWestmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Program Specialist in our Department of Community Relations and Prevention.  This position works to address critical community and public health issues such as opioid misuse prevention, homelessness prevention, communicable disease prevention, and community education.  This role focuses on fostering collaboration, coordinating care through services, engaging stakeholders, and promoting DCRP’s initiatives to improve the quality of life for Westmoreland County residents.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and other DHS departments to coordinate care and facilitate effective service delivery.Assist individuals and families in navigating and accessing appropriate services to meet their needs.Conduct training sessions and workshops for community members and stakeholders on topics such as opioid misuse prevention, harm reduction, and communicable disease prevention.Participate in outreach activities, including community events and meetings to raise awareness of DCRP’s services and initiatives.Collect, analyze, and report data to track outcomes, identify service gaps, and recommend improvements.Develop and maintain documentation, including reports, proposals, and educational materials.Support departmental communication and marketing efforts, including social media campaigns and outreach programs.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in public administration, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field (master’s preferred).Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach, human services, or care coordination.Familiarity with Westmoreland County’s community resources and challenges is highly desirable.Strong organizational and community engagement skills.Knowledge of evidence-based prevention strategies and human services.Effective collaboration and relationship-building with stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Applications, resumes, cover letters, and salary requirements should be sent to:Human Resources Department2 N Main StreetSuite 108Greensburg, Pa 15601Or may be emailed to:employment@co.westmoreland.pa.us Emailed applications must have DCRP Program Manager in the subject line.Westmoreland County is an equal opportunity employer.
