Community Education Specialist – DHS

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Community Education Specialist in the Department of Community Relations and Prevention.  This position will be responsible for developing and delivering educational programs and materials to community members, service providers, and other stakeholders to promote public awareness and understanding of DHS programs and services.Key Responsibilities:Develop and deliver educational programs and materials to community members, service providers, and other stakeholders to promote public awareness and understanding of DHS programs and services.Collaborate with DHS staff and community organizations, schools, and other stakeholders to promote DHS programs and services.Assist with the development and implementation of DHS outreach events, including health fairs, community events, and other activities.Conduct evaluations of educational programs and materials to assess effectiveness and make improvements as needed.Maintain knowledge of current trends and best practices in community education and public health.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in education, public health, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.Three years of experience in community education or related field.Experience developing and delivering educational programs and materials to diverse audiences.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Knowledge of public health issues and best practices in community education.Applications, resumes, cover letters, and salary requirements should be sent to:Human Resources Department 2 N.
