Civilian Forensic Examiner – District Attorney's Office

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Civilian Forensic Examiner in the District Attorney’s office.  The purpose of this position is to assist law enforcement officials with enforcing criminal laws related to computer crime through forensic collection, recovery, processing, preservation, analysis, storage, maintenance, and/or presentation of digital evidence.The job duties include but are not limited to:Conducting forensic examination of electronic devices including computer, mobile devices, and other digital data storage media.Assisting investigators and prosecutors in the preparation of search warrants, investigative information, and cases for court. Provide on scene technical guidance and assistance during the execution of search warrants.Prepares and distributes comprehensive reports detailing examination results to law enforcement entities.Serves as subject matter expert on technical matters relating to digital evidence and testify in court or at hearings.  Applicants must have a associate’s degree in Criminal Science plus three to five years, or equivalent combination, of training and experience which provides appropriate skills, knowledge, and abilities. Resumes, cover letters, and salary requirements should be sent to:Human Resources2 North Main Street, Suite 108Greensburg, PA  15601Or may be emailed to:  employment@co.westmoreland.pa.usEOE
