Chief of Security – Park Police

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Chief of Security. The purpose of the position is to coordinate security activities relating to the Courthouse and other areas, special events, etc. Job duties include but are not limited to: 

Supervises and directs various security functions; maintains Courthouse systems; plans, organizes, and administers the Public Safety Program; coordinates security activities relating to special events, public meetings, etc. Develops, implements, and enforces departmental policies and procedures.
Supervises and directs the work of security guards and other officers; trains new employees, and prepares performance evaluations. 
Prepares and monitors the annual budget. Purchases required equipment as needed. Approves the department billing and payments.
Develops specifications and provides assistance in ordering security alarms, armor, cameras, monitoring equipment, and other security devices.
Ability to use and interpret law enforcement terminology 

Applicants must have a high school diploma with a mandatory Act 120 Municipal Police Training. 10 years of law enforcement experience and must maintain the standards established by the municipal police officer’s education and training commission.
