CAD Technician- Public Safety

CAD TechnicianWestmoreland County Department of Public Safety / 9-1-1 Center is accepting applications for the position of CAD Technician.  This position minimally requires six months to one year of Public Safety data entry, including NG911, experience is preferred.  This includes performing data entry of mapping, 9-1-1 road centerlines, addresses, structure points, building footprints and all applicable data entry as assigned. Required to perform in a coordination role with emergency services, municipal, county, state and federal government agencies, to include knowledge of NG911 data elements, emergency service zones (ESZ) and geospatial data elements.  Ability to demonstrate skills knowledge, and proficiency with ESRI Geospatial products (Arc View, Arc Editor, Arc Map, Arc SDE, and Arc GIS) utilized to perform the work tasks.  Ability to assist department’s PA C.L.E.A.N. Terminal Agency Coordinator.  Ability to understand and follow oral, written instructions and understand public safety terminology.  Ability to communicate with Emergency Medical Services, Fire Departments, Police Departments, Local, State and Federal Officials, System Development and Programming personnel, and other verbally and in writing.  Ability to utilize variety of equipment including but not limited to computers, copier, wide carriage plotter, fax machine, radios, laptops, and telephones.  Experience  High School graduate or similar experiences or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities to satisfy the position.    Classroom training and web-based lessons will be incorporated into the training for this position as necessary.  Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and a minimum educational standards in the job description.  Applicants with prior Police, Fire, or EMS communications experience or prior military service are encouraged to apply, however this background is not mandatory.Completed Applications are to be mailed to:Deputy Director, Scott M.
