Blackburn Center continues to expand Red Sand Project, drawing awareness to human trafficking

Kristin Malone-Bodair of the Blackburn Center holds a jar of red sand, which center officials have been using to fill sidewalk cracks in prominent Westmoreland County locations to draw attention to the way human trafficking often "slips through the cracks" of society.

Throughout September, Westmoreland County residents may have noticed red sand filling in the sidewalk cracks at prominent locations such as Independence Health System hospitals, the county courthouse, local libraries and Seton Hill University.
