Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Auditor. The purpose of this position is to conduct audits and prepare audit reports, conducts preliminary studies, prepares audit program, objectives, risks, scope, questionnaires, correspondence, etc. Other duties include but are not limited to conducting fieldwork including testing, confirmations, preparation of financial schedules and narratives, verification of information, internal control evaluation, references audit workpapers as required, preparing preliminary and final audit reports, conducts exit conference if applicable. The ideal candidate will have the ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents, prepare a variety of documents; to include audit work papers, reports, letters, etc. They will also be able to use and interpret accounting and auditing terminology, have excellent communication skills and be able to record, and deliver information, explain procedures, and follow instructions. A Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required. should have (2) two years working experience in auditing, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.County residency must be established within 180 days and maintained throughout employment.
