Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Assessment Systems Coordinator in the Tax Assessment Department. The purpose of the position is to support the Chief Assessor in the efficient operation of the Tax Assessment Office by managing and coordinating all office functions. Job duties include but are not limited to:Assisting the general public, County departments, State and local agencies, to resolve assessment related issues.Working with the Board of Assessment Appeals and the Solicitor on appeals and litigation.Acting as a Hearing Officer for Assessment Appeals Board and reviewing exemptions on occasion.Utilizing CAMA computerized assessment system; monitoring and refining system for optimal performance.Managing and directing the field assessors while checking accuracy and quality of fieldwork.Assisting in training assessors.Performing and reviewing commercial, industrial, and residential assessments.Visiting field properties to conduct assessments and reviews.Applicants must have an Associate’s Degree in business, statistics or a related field, or any adequate combination of training and experience. CPE certification is required and continuing education is required every 2 years to maintain certification.County residency must be established within 180 days of start date and maintained throughout employment.
