Westmoreland veterans organization seeks descendants of Civil War soldier for Memorial Day ceremony

Members of the Greensburg camp of national organization Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War pose for a photo at St. John’s Harrold Reformed UC Church in Hempfield on Nov. 2, 2024. The group is dedicated to preserving and educating the community on the stories of Union Civil War veterans buried in Westmoreland County.

Penn Township resident Bill Bray has made it his mission to ensure the Civil War veterans buried in Westmoreland County are not forgotten.
