Assessor – Tax Assessment

Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Assessor in the Tax Assessment Department.   The purpose of this position is to perform on-site field inspections and assessments. The job duties include but are not limited to:Ability to comprehend and interpret a variety of documents including building permits, blueprints, tax and other maps, assessment mailers, deed revisions, appraisal manuals, policy manuals, etc.Ability to prepare a variety of documents including maintenance forms, gain sheets, mileage vouchers, property record cards, Act 319 reports, etc.Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License and CPE.Must be able to effectively communicate with taxpayers, Board of Appeals, County government officials, municipal officials, tax mappers, appraisers, realtors, and others verbally and in writing.Ability to assess value of properties, verify ownership of properties for State agencies, review appraisal cards to ensure accuracy.Applicants must be a High School graduate with technical training in assessment and one to two year’s assessment or other real estate experience, or any combination of education and experience that provide equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.Resumes, cover letters, and applications should be sent to:Human Resources Department2 North Main Street, Suite 108Greensburg, PA  15601Or may be emailed to:  employment@co.westmoreland.pa.usEOE
