Westmoreland County is seeking applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant/ Assistant Chief Clerk for the County Solicitor’s Office. The purpose of the position is to perform administrative and secretarial tasks to support the County Solicitor and Assistant County Solicitors and too ensure the timely preparation of contract and grant documents for the Commissioners’ Meeting Agendas.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
Performs daily administrative and clerical functions for the Solicitor’s Office.
Ensures completion of contract and grant documents for the Commissioners’ Meeting Agendas.
Monitors the contract expiration database and sends monthly notification reports to Department Heads.
Prepares quarterly expense reports and invoices for reimbursement of services.
Maintains inventory, processes supply orders and distributes all office supplies.
Prepares annual office budget for review.
Prepares documents including, but not limited to; contracts, grants, court pleadings, briefs, specifications for bids, RFPs and general correspondence as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent plus, clerical, transcription skills and computer training required. Paralegal training preferred, plus, 2-4 years of working experience with government or private law office with a civil practice.
