Access and Functional Needs / Recovery Specialist

Westmoreland County Department of Public Safety / 9-1-1 Center is accepting applications for the position of Access and Functional Needs (AFN) / Recovery Specialist.

This position is responsible to manage and maintain a countywide program to assist citizens or families of citizens that have access or functional needs as resource for preparation, mitigation, response and recovery to natural or man-made disasters. The AFN position will work with nonprofit, religious, educational, human service, emergency service and medical institutions to compose a program to best assist those in our County with an access of functional based needs by providing them with a reliable resource to help prepare and recover in disaster scenarios. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and meet the attached educational requirements. Applicants with prior Police, Fire, or EMS communications experience or prior military service are encouraged to apply, however this background is not mandatory.

Westmoreland County Residency Policy mandates the selected candidate has one year to move into the County for this opportunity.
